Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Sho Fujimoto (the “Developer”) handles information in connection with the BookmarkAI mobile application (the “App”).
1. Information handled
The App does not require account registration. It handles:
- Bookmark data, including URLs, titles, webpage text, AI-generated summaries and categories, and saved dates;
- Article-chat questions, answers, and conversation history;
- AI usage counts, free-trial usage, and App settings;
- Subscription entitlement and product information;
- Network and operational information associated with AI requests, such as IP address, request time, and processing result; and
- Contact details and messages that you voluntarily provide when requesting support.
The Developer does not directly collect your name, email address, or payment-card details as registration information. Apple or Google processes payment information.
2. Purposes of use
Information is used to:
- Save, search, and categorize bookmarks and provide article chat;
- Generate summaries, categories, and article-grounded answers and perform safety checks;
- Determine subscription entitlements and AI usage allowances;
- Prevent abuse, investigate failures, maintain security, and improve the service; and
- Respond to support requests.
3. AI processing and data transfers
For summaries and categorization, the App sends the webpage URL, title, text, requested language, and related data to its backend. For article chat, it also sends your question and the conversation history needed to answer it.
DeepSeek is the primary AI generation provider, and required inputs are sent to its API. OpenAI is used for safety moderation and as a fallback when DeepSeek cannot complete a request, and required inputs are then sent to OpenAI's API. Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy policy. Do not submit pages or questions containing personal, confidential, or other information that you do not want transferred to these providers.
4. On-device storage
Bookmarks, summaries, categories, retrieved webpage text, article-chat history, AI usage counts, and settings are generally stored on your device. The App does not provide Developer-operated cloud synchronization for this data.
You can delete bookmarks and related data in the App. Uninstalling the App removes its local data, subject to any copies maintained by operating-system backup features. Information temporarily transmitted to AI providers or service infrastructure is retained according to each provider's policy.
5. Subscriptions
The App offers subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play. The price and terms displayed by the applicable store at purchase govern billing, renewal, cancellation, and refunds.
RevenueCat manages subscription entitlements. Store-issued purchase information, an anonymous app-user identifier, and entitlement status may be sent to RevenueCat. The Developer does not directly receive payment-card details.
6. Third-party services
The App uses:
- Cloudflare for backend hosting, transport protection, abuse prevention, and operational logs;
- DeepSeek as the primary AI generation provider;
- OpenAI for safety moderation and fallback AI generation;
- RevenueCat for subscription management; and
- Apple App Store / Google Play for distribution, purchases, and payment processing.
Information sent to these services is processed under their respective terms and privacy policies. The App does not serve advertisements or collect advertising identifiers for ad delivery.
7. Disclosure
The Developer does not disclose user information except when required by law, with your consent, or as necessary to provide the services described in this Policy.
8. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and the Developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Security
The Developer uses reasonable safeguards, including encrypted communications and measures against abusive requests. No method of processing is completely secure.
10. Changes
This Policy may be updated to reflect changes to the App, law, or service providers. Material changes will be announced in the App or on this website.
