AI Therapy Privacy Policy
AI Therapy (the "App") is a multilingual chat app in which you can talk to AI characters about your worries and frustrations. The App is provided by Sho Fujimoto (the "Developer").
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in the App.
This Privacy Policy applies to the following app:
- App name on Google Play: AI Therapy: Chat Anime Partner (Japanese: AIセラピスト: 愚痴も悩みもチャットで話せば癒やされる)
- App name on the App Store: AI Therapy: Chat Anime Partner (Japanese: AIセラピスト: 愚痴も悩みもチャットで話せば癒やされる)
- Package name (Android) / Bundle ID (iOS): com.fjsh.whatsupwannatalk
- Developer name on Google Play: fjsh
- Developer (individual): Sho Fujimoto
The App's name in the stores may differ by country and language.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you enter or set
- Messages you send to AI characters
- Settings for characters you create or edit (name, age, occupation, background, gender, hobbies, personality, likes, dislikes, and how the character treats you)
- Images you set for characters (images chosen from your device's photo library or taken with the camera)
1.2 Information generated through use
- Conversation history with each character
- The level of trust between you and each character (closeness) and the character's expression
- A summary about you that the AI compiles from your conversations (what the characters remember about you; it may include things you mentioned in chats, such as your name, job, or worries)
- Total messages sent, and the number of conversations and last chat time for each character
The information in 1.1 and 1.2 is stored on your device. For character images, only the location of the image on your device is saved; the image itself is never sent to the Developer's server. This information may be lost if you delete the App, reset or change your device, or due to OS behavior.
1.3 Information collected automatically
- Device type, OS and version, and App version
- Language and region settings
- Advertising identifiers such as IDFA (iOS) and the Advertising ID (Android)
- Information about ad impressions and clicks
- Information about App launches (see Section 4)
- Technical information such as network logs and IP addresses
1.4 Access to device features
The App asks for access to your photo library or camera only when you set an image for a character. If you do not allow access, you can still use every feature except setting images.
2. How We Use Information
- To generate AI character conversations and provide the App experience, such as reflecting closeness and expressions
- To save conversation history, characters, and progress
- To understand how the App is used and improve its features and quality
- To investigate and fix bugs
- To deliver ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud
- To comply with laws, the App's Terms of Service, and platform policies
3. AI Features
To generate AI character replies, determine expressions, and update the summary about you, the App sends the following to the Developer's server, which then sends it to AI service providers:
- The message you sent and part of your recent conversation history
- The summary about you (see Section 1.2) and your recent messages used to update it
- The character's settings and closeness level
- Your device language
The App mainly uses DeepSeek as its AI service provider, and uses OpenAI only when DeepSeek cannot generate a response. When OpenAI is used, what you entered is first checked by OpenAI's moderation feature (a check for inappropriate content) before it is sent.
The Developer does not store conversation content on its servers. However, network and error logs may be recorded temporarily for troubleshooting and security.
Please do not enter personally identifiable or confidential information in chats, such as your real name, address, phone number, email address, passwords, or payment details. If you talk about information that needs particular care, such as your health or mental state, please use the App with the understanding that it will be sent to AI service providers as described above.
4. Usage Analytics
The App uses EAS Insights from Expo (650 Industries, Inc.). When the App is launched, the fact that it was launched is sent together with information such as your device type, OS, and App version. This information is used to understand the number of users and the versions in use, and to help investigate bugs and improve the App.
The content of your messages, character settings, and the summary about you are never sent.
5. Advertising and Tracking
The App displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use advertising identifiers, device information, IP addresses, and ad impression and click information to deliver, measure, and personalize ads and to prevent fraud.
On iOS, the IDFA is used for tracking across apps and websites only if you allow it through App Tracking Transparency (ATT). You can manage ad personalization in your device settings and Google account settings.
Users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
In these regions, the App shows a consent screen from Google's consent management tool (Google UMP) when it launches, asking for your consent to the use of information for advertising. Depending on your consent, advertising identifiers, IP addresses, and device information may be shared with third parties for ad delivery and measurement. These third parties are ad networks, ad tech companies, and similar companies registered on the IAB TCF Vendor List. You can view the list of partners in the consent screen and at:
- AdMob ad technology providers: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/9012903
- IAB TCF Vendor List: https://iabeurope.eu/vendor-list-tcf/
Under the GDPR / UK GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, and withdrawal of consent. To change or withdraw your consent, please contact us using the details in Section 13. The consent screen is also shown again if you delete and reinstall the App.

Because the App uses the services in Section 6, your information may be transferred to, processed, and stored by providers outside your country — mainly in the United States, and, for AI conversation generation, in the People's Republic of China. Data protection laws in these countries may differ from those where you live. In particular, China has a personal information protection law, but its legal system differs from those of Japan and the EU, including in the circumstances under which government authorities may access information. Please do not enter personally identifiable information in chats.
8. Sharing with Third Parties
The Developer does not sell your information. We do not share it with third parties except:
- with your consent;
- with the service providers in Section 6, to the extent necessary to provide the App;
- when required by law;
- when necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property; or
- in connection with a business transfer.
9. Retention
Data on your device remains until you delete the App or it is deleted by your device or OS. Information processed on servers is kept only as long as necessary for the purposes in this Policy and then deleted or anonymized, except where longer retention is required for legal compliance, security, or fraud investigation.
10. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not use it. Minors should use the App only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
11. Your Choices and Rights
- Advertising identifiers and tracking: Manage them in your device settings ("Tracking" on iOS, "Ads" / Advertising ID on Android).
- Photo library and camera: You can revoke access at any time in your device settings.
- Data on your device: Deleted when you uninstall the App. You can also delete a conversation with a character using the reset option on the chat screen, and delete a character you created from its edit screen.
- Requests for access, correction, suspension of use, or deletion: Contact us using the details in Section 13. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
12. Security and Changes to This Policy
The Developer takes reasonable measures to protect information against leakage, loss, and unauthorized access.
This Policy may be updated in response to changes in laws, the App's features, or third-party services. We will announce significant changes in the App or on our website.
