AI Teacher Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using the smartphone app "AI Teacher" (the "App") provided by Sho Fujimoto (the "Developer"). By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

1. About the App

The App is a study app that uses AI to read images such as textbook pages, worksheets, notes and screenshots, or text you type in, and explains them at the difficulty you choose. Its main features are:

• Generating explanations, explanations from a different perspective, and practice questions (multiple choice or explanation)
• Asking follow-up questions about an explanation
• Saving explanations to books and practice questions to quiz books
• Creating PDFs of your books
• Recording your study, such as "read" and "memorized"

2. Eligibility

If you are a minor, please use the App with the consent of a parent or guardian. Children under 13 should use the App under the supervision of a parent or guardian.

3. Free Use

The App is free to use, with the following limits:

• You can generate explanations and practice questions and ask follow-up questions up to 2 times a day in total. After that, you can add 1 more use each time you watch a video ad to the end, up to 3 extra uses a day.
• You can load 1 image at a time.
• You can save 1 book with up to 10 pages and 1 quiz book with up to 10 questions.
• Creating PDFs of your books is a VIP Plan benefit.

A "day" is based on your device's date. The numbers above are current values and may change as we improve the App.

4. Subscription (VIP Plan)

1. The App offers an auto-renewing subscription, the "VIP Plan," through the App Store and Google Play. Monthly and annual periods are offered, and the available periods may differ by store or region.
2. The VIP Plan currently includes the following benefits:
   • No daily usage limit
   • No ads
   • Up to 3 images loaded at a time
   • No limits on the number of books and quiz books or on their pages and questions
   • Creating PDFs of your books
3. Prices vary by country and region. The exact price and period are shown on the purchase screen. If a free trial is offered, its length and the price after it ends are shown on the purchase screen.
4. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal fee is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
5. To cancel, on iOS go to Settings > your name > Subscriptions, and on Android go to Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions in the Google Play Store. Deleting the App does not cancel your subscription. After you cancel, you can keep using the benefits until the end of the current period.
6. When you change devices or reinstall the App, you can restore a subscription made with the same Apple ID or Google account by tapping "Restore Purchases" in the App.
7. Purchases, renewals, cancellations and refunds are subject to the terms and procedures of each app store. The Developer cannot directly refund payments made through a store. For refunds, please contact Apple or Google.
8. If we change the price, we will notify you in advance in accordance with each app store's procedures. Benefits may change as we improve the App, and we will notify you in advance, such as in the App, before significantly reducing them.
9. The Developer uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) to process and manage subscriptions.

If you purchase through the App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ ) also applies. In the event of a conflict with these Terms, Apple's Standard EULA prevails with respect to Apple.

5. Ads

1. The App uses Google AdMob to show rewarded ads (video ads). Showing ads involves the handling of information described in the Privacy Policy.
2. The reward for watching a video ad to the end (an extra use) is not given if an ad cannot be shown or if you stop watching partway through.
3. Advertisers are responsible for the content of ads and for the products and services they link to.
4. You must not click ads fraudulently or interfere with the display of ads.

6. AI-Generated Content

1. Text recognition from images, explanations, practice questions and answers to follow-up questions are generated by AI. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate or different from what you intended. Answers and solutions may be wrong, so please check them against your textbook or your teacher's explanation.
2. Do not rely on AI-generated content for professional judgments in areas such as medicine, law, finance or psychology, or as the basis for important decisions.
3. If you use the App for school assignments or exams, follow the rules of your school or exam. The Developer is not responsible for any disadvantage arising from use that breaks those rules.
4. If you find inappropriate content, please let us know using "Report" on the explanation screen.
5. The Developer does not guarantee the accuracy of generated content, any particular result or any learning outcome.

7. Content You Must Not Send

Do not send images or text that contain the following:

• Personal or confidential information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, student ID numbers, photos of faces, passwords or payment information
• Other people's personal information, or content that invades someone's privacy
• Content that infringes the copyright or other rights of third parties
• Content that violates laws or public order and morals
• Defamation, threats, harassment or discriminatory expressions
• Content that sexualizes children, or excessively sexual or violent content
• Content that encourages crime, self-harm or dangerous behavior

8. Prohibited Conduct

• Violating laws, these Terms or the terms of any platform
• Placing an excessive load on the App, its servers or third-party services
• Unauthorized access, reverse engineering, modification or the use of bots
• Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities in the App
• Interfering with the operation of the App, ads, subscriptions or AI generation
• Copying, reposting, selling, distributing or modifying the App's content without permission
• Any other conduct the Developer reasonably considers inappropriate

9. Data Storage

Data such as your history, books, quiz books, study records and settings is stored on your device. It may be lost if you delete the App, your device breaks, you change devices, or because of OS behavior, and the Developer cannot restore it (your VIP Plan subscription can be restored as described in Section 4, item 6).

10. Intellectual Property

Intellectual property rights in the App, its images, text, programs and other content belong to the Developer or the rightful owners. Rights in the content of textbooks and other materials you photograph or type in belong to their respective owners. You may use the App and AI-generated content for your own personal study.

11. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services for ads, AI text recognition and generation, subscription management and server infrastructure. Your use of these may be subject to each provider's terms and privacy policy.

12. Changes, Suspension and Termination of the Service

The Developer may change the content, features or delivery of the App, or suspend or end the App. If we end the App, we will give notice a reasonable time in advance, such as in the App.

13. Disclaimer

1. The Developer does not guarantee that the App is accurate, complete, useful, continuously available or free of defects, or that it will produce the results you expect.
2. The Developer is not liable for any damage you suffer in connection with the App, except where caused by the Developer's intent or gross negligence. Even where the Developer is liable, liability is limited to direct and ordinary damage actually suffered by you.
3. The preceding item does not apply to the extent that the Consumer Contract Act or other laws do not allow the Developer's liability to be excluded or limited.

14. Changes to These Terms

The Developer may change these Terms as necessary. When we do, we will announce the revised content and its effective date in advance in the App or on our website. If you use the App on or after the effective date, you are deemed to have agreed to the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to the App is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction, in the first instance, of the Japanese court with jurisdiction over the Developer's location. However, disputes with users who are consumers are subject to the jurisdiction provided by law.
