Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using the smartphone app "Samurai Otome: Doomed Princess" (the "App") provided by Sho Fujimoto (the "Developer"). By using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

1. About the App

The App is an otome game in which you read the story of a heroine reborn as a villainous princess in Japan's Sengoku period, moving the story forward by making choices. The choices you make change the ending (Happy Ending, Normal Ending, or Bad Ending). The story is divided into a Common Route that everyone can read and an individual route for each love interest.

The App's story, characters, and artwork are created in advance. The story is fiction for entertainment only and has no connection to real people, organizations, or historical events.

2. Eligibility

Children under 13 may not use the App. Minors should use the App only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

3. What You Can Use for Free

The App is free to use. When using it for free, the following limits apply:

  • There is a limit on how many individual-route episodes you can start per day (currently two). When you reach it, the "To Be Continued Tomorrow" screen appears.
  • On the "To Be Continued Tomorrow" screen, choose "Watch an Ad to Continue" and watch an ad to add one episode for that day (currently up to three times a day). If an ad cannot be loaded, you can keep reading without watching one.
  • Common Route episodes, episodes you have already started, "His Side" stories, and seasonal stories do not count toward the limit.
  • You can reach the Happy Ending of every route without buying any paid products.

A new day begins at 4:00 AM in your device's time. The limits may change as we improve the App.

4. In-App Purchases

  1. The App sells one-time purchases that unlock individual routes, through the App Store and Google Play. There are no subscriptions (auto-renewing purchases).
  2. When you buy a route, you get the following for that route:
    • Special choices and the special scenes that follow them (currently three per route)
    • Exclusive artwork (currently three per route)
    • The ability to read that route without the daily limit in Section 3
  3. Prices vary by country and region. The exact price is shown on the purchase screen. (Current prices in Japan, tax included: ¥480 for one route, ¥600 for a two-route bundle, and ¥980 for a three-route bundle.)
  4. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account when you confirm the purchase.
  5. When you change devices or reinstall the App, you can restore products bought with the same Apple ID or Google account from "Restore Purchases" in "Settings" or on the purchase screen. Purchased products are not moved by Data Transfer in Section 7.
  6. Purchases and refunds are subject to the terms and procedures of each app store. The Developer cannot directly refund payments made through the stores; please contact Apple or Google for refunds. Refunded products can no longer be used in the App.
  7. The Developer uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) to verify and restore in-app purchases.

If you purchase through the App Store, Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ ) also applies. If it conflicts with these Terms, Apple's Standard EULA prevails with respect to Apple.

5. Advertising

  1. The App displays ads through Google AdMob. Ads are shown only when you choose "Watch an Ad to Continue." Displaying ads involves the handling of information described in the Privacy Policy.
  2. If you close a rewarded ad before it finishes, no episode is added.
  3. Advertisers are responsible for the content of their ads and the products and services they link to.
  4. You must not click ads fraudulently or interfere with how ads are displayed.

6. Notifications

If you allow it, the App notifies you on your device when a letter from him arrives, when a seasonal story begins, and when you can keep reading. Notifications may be delayed or may not arrive, depending on your device's time and OS behavior.

7. Data Storage and Data Transfer

  1. Data such as your story progress, the heroine's name, and settings is stored on your device. It may be lost if you delete the App, if your device fails, if you change devices, or due to OS behavior, and the Developer cannot restore it.
  2. When you issue a code from "Data Transfer" in "Settings," your device's records are stored on the Developer's server, and you can receive them on another device by entering the code. You can transfer between iPhone and Android.
  3. Each code can be used only once and stops working 30 days after it is issued. When you receive data, the records on the receiving device are replaced, and this cannot be undone.
  4. Anyone who knows your code can receive the stored records. You are responsible for keeping your code safe. The Developer is not liable for any damage caused by others learning your code, except in cases of the Developer's intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

8. Prohibited Conduct

  • Violating laws, these Terms, or the terms of any platform
  • Placing an excessive load on the App, its servers, or third-party services
  • Unauthorized access, reverse engineering, modification, cheating, or using bots
  • Obtaining someone else's transfer code improperly, or guessing and using one
  • Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities in the App
  • Interfering with the operation of the App, its ads, or in-app purchases
  • Copying, reposting, selling, distributing, or modifying the App's story, artwork, music, or other content without permission
  • Any other conduct the Developer reasonably considers inappropriate

9. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the App, its story, characters, artwork, music, programs, and other content belong to the Developer or the rightful owners. You may use the App only for personal, non-commercial purposes.

10. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services for advertising, in-app purchase management, and server infrastructure. Your use of these may be subject to each provider's terms and privacy policy.

11. Changes, Suspension, and Termination of the Service

The Developer may change the App's content, features, or how it is provided, or suspend or end the App. If we end the App, we will give reasonable notice in the App or elsewhere.

12. Disclaimer

  1. The Developer does not guarantee that the App is accurate, complete, useful, continuously available, free of bugs, or that it will produce the results you expect.
  2. The Developer is not liable for any damage you suffer in connection with the App, except in cases of the Developer's intentional misconduct or gross negligence. Even where the Developer is liable, liability is limited to the direct and ordinary damages you actually suffered.
  3. The preceding paragraph does not apply to the extent that the Consumer Contract Act or other laws do not allow the Developer's liability to be excluded or limited.

13. Changes to These Terms

The Developer may change these Terms as needed. If we do, we will announce the revised content and its effective date in advance in the App or on our website. By using the App on or after the effective date, you are deemed to have agreed to the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute arising in connection with the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction, in the first instance, of the Japanese court with jurisdiction over the Developer's location. However, disputes with users who are consumers are subject to the jurisdiction prescribed by law.
